J. Baird teams are known as "Griffins". A griffin is a legendary creature
that had the head and wings of an eagle and the body and legs of a lion.
Griffins often adorn the coats of arms of families,
cities, states and nations. The example on the right is from Baden,
Germany. Griffins were imagined to be fast
flyers, possessing excellent vision, with the strength and courage of a
lion. |
